How to choose

Prep, utility or mop sink

A prep sink is for washing produce and thawing food and must be kept separate from hand washing and dish washing. A utility or laundry sink handles cleaning jobs, buckets and equipment. A mop sink sits low or on the floor so you can fill and empty a mop bucket without lifting it.

Drainboard side

Choose a left or right drainboard to match the flow of work in your kitchen, so clean product lands on the side it moves on to.

Faucet

Most one compartment sinks take an 8" center faucet; check whether one is included. A pre-rinse faucet speeds up rinsing at a dish station.

What is a 1 compartment sink used for?

A single bowl sink handles prep, thawing, filling stock pots and general utility work. It does not replace a 3 compartment sink for manual dishwashing or a hand sink for hand washing.

Is a prep sink the same as a hand sink?

No. Health codes require a dedicated hand sink used only for hand washing. See our hand sinks.
