How to choose

Size

A full size 8 qt chafer holds a full size hotel pan for entrees and sides. Half size chafers suit smaller portions and sauces. Marmite chafers hold soups and stews.

Roll top or lift-off lid

A roll top lid stays attached and opens with one hand, which keeps buffet lines moving. Lift-off lids cost less.

Heat source

Chafers are heated with fuel cans placed under the water pan. Keep food hot before it goes into the chafer; chafers hold heat, they do not cook.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have food warmers?

Yes. See food warmers.

Is freight included?

Yes. Freight and liftgate delivery are included on every order to the continental United States, with nothing added at checkout.

What to check before you order

Write out the menu and headcount, then sort every dish into hot holding, cold holding or room temperature service. That list tells you how many pans and stations you need. Next, think about the venues you work in: fuel heated chafers suit sites without outlets, and electric units suit rooms with enough circuits. Check that everything stacks and fits your vehicle. A common mistake is using holding equipment to reheat; it is built to keep hot food hot.
