What to stock first

Opening a restaurant

Start with full and half size sheet pans, a set of mixing bowls from small to large, color-coded cutting boards, food storage and ingredient bins, and bus tubs for the dining room.

Frequently asked questions

Why use color-coded cutting boards?

Giving each food group its own board color helps keep raw meat and poultry away from ready-to-eat food. Many kitchens follow a color scheme for this, and your local health department can tell you what it expects.

What size sheet pan do I need?

Full size pans (18 x 26 in.) fit standard full size ovens and racks. Half size (18 x 13 in.) suits countertop and half size ovens. Check your oven’s interior before you order.

Are Thunder Group mixing bowls stainless steel?

The mixing bowls we carry are stainless steel, from 3/4 qt to 30 qt.
