Most health codes want a sink behind the bar that is used for hand washing and nothing else. We make that sink two ways. Both are type 304 stainless steel with a backsplash and a faucet included, so the choice comes down to what you want underneath it and how much room you have.

Why choose the cabinet base
The cabinet hides the drain and supply lines and gives you an enclosed space for soap refills, paper towels and sanitizer. In an open bar where guests can see the back of house, it also looks tidier than exposed pipes.
Why choose open legs
An open base makes the plumbing easy to reach for installation and repairs, and lets you mop directly beneath the sink. It also comes in two extra sizes, 18 x 15 and 22 x 15 inches, which help when 12 inches is too shallow and 18 is too deep for your bar.
Which size
Width decides how much of the bar run the sink takes. Depth decides whether it lines up with the equipment beside it. If your other underbar pieces are 18 inches deep, an 18 inch deep hand sink gives a flush front. If the sink is going into a shallow service bar, the 12 inch depth is the one that fits.
Where to put it
- Close enough to each bartender that it gets used. Inspectors look at this.
- Away from the ice bin, so splashes do not reach the ice.
- Within reach of hot and cold water and a drain.
Cabinet base or open legs
A hand sink on a cabinet base hides the drain and supply lines and gives a little storage for soap and towel refills. It looks finished behind a bar where guests can see it.
A hand sink on open legs costs less, is easier to clean around, and lets you see a leak right away.
Either way, health codes require a hand sink with hot and cold water, soap and towels within reach of bar staff, so place it where bartenders can use it without leaving the station.
Before you order
- Ask your local health department how many hand sinks the bar needs and where they must go.
- Measure the width, depth and height available under the bar top.
- Check where the water supply and drain come in, and that they will reach.
