Description
The Hatco IWB-4 is a 58 in. drop-in cold well that uses ice, not refrigeration, to keep food chilled on a buffet or serving counter. Its single large well takes four food pans, which makes it a good fit for shrimp cocktail, cut fruit, salads and desserts at hotel breakfasts, banquet halls, catered events and cafeteria lines. Because there is no compressor, there is nothing to plug in.
How it holds up on a buffet line
- Fill the well with ice and set four pans (sold separately) into it.
- Insulation in the sides and bottom helps the ice last longer between refills.

- Plan where the drain line will go under the counter before the countertop is cut.
- The page does not state the pan size, so contact us to confirm which pans fit before you buy them.
- Many health departments require cold food to stay at or below 41°F, so plan how often staff will add ice; your local health department has the final say on cold holding.

Is shipping free, and is liftgate delivery included?
Yes. Shipping is free to the lower 48 states and DC, with nothing added at checkout. Larger items ship by freight truck with liftgate delivery included, and the carrier calls ahead to schedule. Smaller items ship by parcel. We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.
Do I need a plumber or electrician?
Usually not. Most refrigeration plugs into an outlet, so check the voltage and plug type in the specifications above. After delivery, let it stand upright for several hours (ideally 24) before plugging it in so the refrigerant can settle.
Does it come with a warranty?
Yes. It is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, shown on this page. Keep your delivery paperwork, and inspect the unit for freight damage before signing for it.
Can I pick it up instead of having it shipped?
